Howdy everyone. Yeah...its been a while, I know (quit naggin' me!).
Ok, so far, so good ("so far" being the key words). As everyone knows, I've got Tricky Lui for DiffEQs. Yes, he is tricky. Yes, he is extremely difficult. Yes, he takes pride that we suffer and slave to pass his course. And yes, I will want to thank him about 20 years from now...but not right now! Here's the scoop on my life (not that anyone actually cares): 1. I can not bother to show up to my Static Systems exam tomorrow (Best 3 exams of 4, and I've aced the first 3). 2. I'm starting to get very worried about Linear Algebra. Yes, its an easy class. Yes, that means its not difficult, but DAMN do they have to use all the shitty terminology to try and throw you off? 3. I'm still very worried about DiffEQ. I've told a few people around here that I have Tricky Lui, and they act all "HOLY SHIT, DUDE! YOU'RE F*CKED!!!". Then I go, "Ummm...thanks...I think....". This is easily the quarter I've worked the hardest for. My only reprieves are cross country practice and fight practice. And then there was that odd time yesterday before fight practice (just before I was going to get some DiffEQ done) when Josh and Company banged down my door and carried me off to T Sam's for supper. Thank God I have friends like that. I do apologize for my stink at T Sam's...you caught me just after I got out of cross country practice and I didn't have time to shower. And another thing which I had forgotten to tell them: if you guys EVER want to drop by for a movie with our kickass sound system, just call me and give me a day's notice or two. I'd be more than happy to have you guys over at any time (minus finals week). That goes for my friends back home, too: just drop on by. Ok, recap of the last week's events: I was able to go to "The Gauntlet", which was a really fun event, and well thought out, with really really good props. The only part I really wasn't happy about was when I was sent back to retrieve pikes to help defend the castle, and upon our return, the fighting was in earnest. The three of us decided we'd do a left envelopment and punch a hole through the assault big enough for us to deliver the goods. That was the ideal thing that we WANTED to happen. This is what really happened: so we hit their left flank, start punching a hole through it, then the entirety of their forces that weren't currently engaged ( >3, let me tell you) mowed us down. So I missed pretty much the entire castle siege. But hey, stuff like that happens sometimes, can't be helped. Oh, and I swear she hit me first, I'm innocent I tell you!*** ***Disclaimer: That was for people who were at the event. No, Chris, I don't hit honorable ladies. And no, Scarlet, it wasn't with my fist. STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS! Gah, talk about scarletstorms! Yes, I am now prone to periods of really whacked out and freaky behavior because of the stress level I'm currently at. I'm stressed out. I apologize to everyone around me for acting like a real big asshole at times. School is wearing on me...this quarter needs to end NOW...... Another thing: I'm getting gray hair. Maybe to prevent that, I'll need to try this "hashing" that Seth explained to me last night at Tortilla Sam's. I think several runs around the city would be very beneficial for me some friday or saturday night. Ok, enough buggering from me. Take care of yourselves, everyone, and be careful. I can't wait to see you guys again real soon. In the words of a very important person: "Mind the uniform, cleric. I plan to be wearing it for a long time." I'll see most of you at next fight practice. Catch y'all later. Friday, September 19, 2003
Hey folks, its been a while. I've had a rough couple weeks.
Exam results are as follows: Statics: Exam 1: 100 Linear Algebra: N/A just yet. Will find out Wednesday Differential Equations: Class average: 26. My score: 45. Will have chance to make that an A. Having no social life is really riding on me. I don't really get to meet new people anymore, and I dunno, people don't seem to like me anymore. Oh well, enough of the drivel. My goal for tomorrow is to run my ass off during the race. Maybe I'll put in enough effort that I'll be given the coconut. Saturday, September 06, 2003
Alrighty then. Glad to still have you guys with me. Or girls. Or its. Whatever, it doesn't matter, the point is that you're taking precious moments of your life to see what I'm up to, and I appreciate that, and I thank you for your concern.
Differential equations is a pain. No human being should be put through such pain of mathematics (note: its not the subject, or the way its taught, its the homework problems presented by Tricky Lui). But I thank WPI's course assignment system, which gave me him as a professor. Due to his hard work in trying to teach me the rigors of math, I am becoming proficient at whatever gets thrown at me. I thank him, and all my professors that I've hated so far. Life's been good. We've been eating very well. TOO MUCH HOMEWORK. Not enough pool. Not enough girls (I can deal with this though, don't have much luck with them anyways). Statics is a very interesting class, while Linear Algebra keeps being easy yet extremely EXTREMELY tedious. Yet extremely useful (had to solve a linear system for statics today...never thought I'd have to use that knowledge so soon). I'm having a blast at college. I just need a break.
