Arrrgghhh me mateys! Its the Dread Pirate Matt here to make ye all walk the plank over yonder!
Alright, so maybe my reputation isn't as intimidating as that of the infamous Dread Pirate Roberts, but I'm working on it. Give me just a few more years... First order of the night is for me to apologize. I always seem to forget to thank people for their offers nowadays :-(. I'd like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to those who offered me a place to stay for Thanksgiving, had I not been able to go home. That meant alot to me. You guys have always treated me well and accepted me as one of your own. I wish I could find a way to give back to all of you. Just wanted to update y'all on my life (pretty pretentious of me, eh?)...and its going well, for the most part. I feel like I have an empty void somewhere in my soul. There's no more pain to go with it--just a vague sense of sadness, regret, and emptiness. Now, onto more pleasant things. I slept in really late today (got up at 11:08 AM this morning), and then ate breakfast...then promptly went back to sleep (I had gone back to my room to get dressed, but evidently I didn't quite make it that far) for about an hour. When I finally woke up again, I managed to remember to get dressed for the day, then helped clean up the house a bit. Called up Bill, Chris, Chuck, and Ron to come over, but either I'm a dope and dialed Bill's number wrong, or he switched numbers (meaning I couldn't get ahold of him)...Chuck had schoolwork. Chris and Ron were able to come over, though Chris left at about 5:50 PM (he abandoned us for women...and we thought we rated...how wrong we were). Ron and I ordered out with my parents for Chinese food, and we ate while watching TechTV...the best channel...EVER!!! (well, besides maybe the History Channel). Good times were had today (other than falling into a depressive rut early on...but the unexplained and unexpected nap returned me to "normal"). Went over to http://www.bmwfilms.com to check those out (think "The Transporter"), and played Helm's Deep on my zDoom source port (mmm...Helm's Deep...Doom style). Prepared a bit for going back to WPI...not looking forward to it (well, I'm looking forward to hanging out with my roommates and friends, but not the work load). Two more weeks of Stress Analysis...entering the final sprint...I'll find some sort of motivation to keep me doing the work. Found it: passing the class so I don't have to retake it! That should DEFINITELY be motivation enough. Ok, enough about today...its in the past, and I'm in the present, about to forge a path into the future. Tomorrow's events are as follows: 1st Annual "After the Turkey Trot"--a 5 Mile road race. If today's temperature keeps up, I won't freeze to death on the path to the finish. My goal is to finish under 42:00...I'd say I want to run it in 37:00, but I haven't trained at all since the end of A-Term, so I HIGHLY doubt tomorrow will be an impressive day for me, running wise. It'll be a chance for me to work off all the weight I put on in such a short amount of time. I sorta feel like Santa Claus :-/. I think I'm starting to look like him, too (minus the beard...and the fluffy Red Coat). If I survive the grueling rigors of the streets of Quincy, I'll be heading home to shower and then restock on fluids and salts. At 1:00 PM (damn you, Chris, you HAD to specify!), I shall make my way over to Chris's place to partake in the Risk action, along with watching a movie or two. Possibly three, if we don't get kicked out for being loud and rowdy. Now to go back to rereading Michael Crichton's "Timeline" (for the third time)...I want to finish it before I go see the movie that was based on that wicked awesome book. Wake up is at 0900 hours tomorrow morning. Good night all, and I pray everyone had a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
